Laser hair removal

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal is an effective, non-invasive way to eliminate undesired hair. Controlled bursts of light generate heat that targets the pigment in the follicles, disabling them so that new growth ceases. Small facial areas like the lips can be treated very quickly. Multiple sessions may be required for complete results since only those in their growth cycle are influenced by the laser. This FDA-approved process is also gentle and nearly painless with no time off required afterwards. You should expect smoother skin and a softer texture as an end result.

One of our highly trained Laser Technicians will discuss your areas of concern during your initial consultation and how many treatments each area will require. You can go about your regular day after laser treatments at Aesthetica Medspa & Rejuvenation Center since they are quick and effective.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

How do I prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?

During the prior 4 week period leading up to the appointment, do not bleach, wax, use hair removal creams or electrolysis for the area needing treatment.

Avoid sun exposure or tanning, and if this is unavoidable, then use SPF 30 or greater.

Shave the treatment area 24 hour hours prior.

On the day of treatment remove any make-up, lotions or deodorants.

Wear loose clothes that will allow exposure for the treatment area and reduce abrasive ness to the skin.

How many treatments are needed initially?

For optimal results, it usually requires 8-10 treatments. During this period, patients usually come every month.

Is hair removal with a laser permanent?

Even after the area has been fully treated, Aesthetica Medspa often requires maintenance treatments once a year, since laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. As laser hair removal destroys existing follicles, new ones can regenerate as a normal physiologic process.
